This poetry collection features verses on homelessness, police brutality, murder, and peace. It also showcases the genuine emotions of African Americans in Los Angeles regarding their racial identity. It explores how their skin color has molded their experiences and how being a particular race in America can be hostile and perilous. This book serves as a platform for individuals to share their narratives and assists me in conveying my experiences of being Black during that era.

This book, brimming with journal prompts, guides readers to enhance their mental and financial health and sharpen their focus. It encourages individuals to reflect on their needs, set their goals, and shape their future. Published as a fundraiser to buy hygiene products for the community, the author, Darika, realized post-publication that she benefited from the journal just as much as the community.
